Pastoral Care

At CDSJ (2), pastoral care and students' well-being form the basis of our Catholic learning community. We aim to develop the whole person - intellectually, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Students are introduced to spiritual development programs each academic year. This strand allows students to help develop a real and experiential relationship with God. Core topics include prayer, mass, recollection for senior students, and sustaining the cultural religious practice that is integral of Macau's life and culture such as devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. Likewise, devotion to St. Joseph is observed in the school community. The school aims to instil the virtues of St. Joseph in its students. In each assembly prayer, St Joseph is evoked to remind students of the fatherly care of St. Joseph and his virtues that each student should reflect and live.
At CDSJ 2 we believe that the awareness of the presence of God is one of the important elements that our students should discover and understand in their young lives. A child, made in the image of God must be made aware of the grace and loving presence of God in each person. Thus, our pastoral program is prepared to touch the hearts and lives of our students.Important catholic religious events such as Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lenten Season, and Easter are carefully prepared and celebrated to nurture the student's spiritual growth. This includes activities such as praying together, reading bible stories, spending time in nature, discussing religious symbols, and reflecting on what they are thankful for and what they feel when they talk about God.Being innovative even in Religious Education, we embrace and teach the connection between God the creator and ecology. We introduce our students to care for the environment and love for our common home.
